How to enhance your skill ?

Most of the aspirants think that they can outsmart UPSC with their content. Well, you can’t !!! Don’t think you can clear with only pure knowledge.

Of course, you need content. Read the standard books only, don’t go for ‘extra books’., But that is not enough. You need to have a certain skill to solve this exam.

How to develop it?

Some already have it and they know how to use it. Some have it and do not know how to use it. and most of the average aspirants do not have it. but you can develop it

If you are following my strategy then you will be doing more than 100 mock tests. The reason why we are doing this much mock is not to get the answer key of that 10,000 questions.

Then?

  • ●  To practice/develop our skill

  • ●  To understand our weaknesses and strengths

  • ●  To have good time management

  • ●  To manage the stress

What to do after you take a test?

Most of us spend hours studying 100 answer keys. Some make notes out of it !!!
You must go through the wrong questions and you have to find out the reason why you got it wrong. There may be a number of reasons.

  • ●  Carelessness

  • ●  Overthinking

  • ●  Negative Mindset

  • ●  Narrow Mindset

  • ●  Lack of applying common sense

  • ●  Lack of revision

  • ●  Stress / Tension

  • ●  Poor Time management

  • ●  Trying to recollect everything

  • ●  Lack of Content

  • ●  ...........

90% of us would think that it is because of a lack of content. And they will read the book again and again !!!! That won’t work.

Find out your reasons and try not to repeat them while doing the next test. By repeating this process you will understand your weaknesses and strengths. Work on it. You can note down your weakness on a sticky note and keep it with you. So that you will remember your weakness while doing a mock.

If you have a friend or a mentor, then talk to him/her. He/She can help you to identify your weakness and help you with that.

How to solve questions?

There are a number of techniques

●  STATEMENT CONSISTENCY METHOD: Examining the logical coherence of two different statements to eliminate the options.

●  BURDEN OF PROOF METHOD: Evaluating the correctness of a statement by understanding the difficulty to prove it wrong.

●  POSITIVE APPROACH: The practice of assuming a given statement as true.

●  WORD DECONSTRUCTION APPROACH: Understanding the meaning of the word and connecting it with the options

●  PROBABILITY ENHANCER TECHNIQUE Comparing the chances of statements getting wrong to maximize the accuracy

●  50-50 TECHNIQUE The elimination technique that works in most of the questions. You can not be a master of prelims in a day. It takes time. So have patience. Trust the process.
